Front-of-house work carries most of a property's curb appeal, so it is worth getting the ground plane right before anything is planted. Here the walkway was relaid in reclaimed brick and run right up to the step, with an exposed-aggregate landing at the door.
The beds either side were cleared, re-edged in steel and replanted: river stone through the back of the bed, a specimen cloud-pruned topiary as the anchor, and low evergreen planting filling in along the front edge.
Installation crews focus on precision and detail, and designers work with the region's soil, climate and vegetation so the planting still reads well as it fills in.
